Goldenwheel Travels

It’s been two weeks since T and I departed London. We’re in humid Singapore after having spent 12 days in cold Japan, a country I’ve always been facinated with, but never ventured to visit until now.

Our time in Japan didn’t disappoint. The cultural spread between ancient and modern is vast and the landscapes impressive. The people we’ve met have been welcoming and the culinary offering tasty and cheap. 12 days just wasn’t long enough, as we’re left with a strong desire to return and explore this great country further.

A big warm thank you to Riki, Maki and the rest of Tokyo Bike Polo for providing such awesome hospitality during our stay. See you all on a court soon.

A Cosmic Blessing by A.Todd

As part of our Swedish wedding service back in July, Todd gave a personal reading, which he named “A Cosmic Blessing”. They were beautiful words, which touched everyone who was in our company.

Then more recently, as a belated wedding gift, Todd presented to us the blessing as a framed typographical print (1 of 1), which he and Hayley had carefully hand drawn together.

It’s so awesome, I just had to share it here for all to read.

Big thanks Mr and Mrs Todd x

Going…. Around The World!

At the end of this month Mat will be leaving us to go on a round the world journey! As his honeymoon was spent at the Euros and the Worlds earlier this year, I think it’s about time he and Therese actually got away and spent some quality time together. So jobs have been jacked in, their home has been given up, and the bike stable has taken a huge hit! And what about Cosmic I hear you all saying?!

Well both Rupert and I are happy to keep things going over here and will be taking it easy with lots of chilled polo. We have split to play on separate BM London League teams and may play a few tournaments on mixed teams. However, there will be lots of Cosmic times and in the tradition of several tourneys we played this year, we’ll team up with our buddies to form some special Cosmic spin-off teams. You remember the famous Los Cosmicos (Alejandro) and of course the fabulous Cosmique with Yorgo. Then there was tourneys with our main man Rob (BDX) and even a Cosmorico team with Marc and Seabass! So if you fancy stepping in for Mat and forming a Cosmic syndicate then give us a shout! We’re up for traveling.

Then there’s Mat…who will be touring on his polo bike and looking for team mates whilst on the move. Australasia Champs! There’s no doubt he and Therese will be bringing the Cosmic vibez to a town near you very soon. And they return in 6/7 months for the grand reunion!

We have more exciting stuff planned too. That will never stop! There’s 3 new bikes about to happen and a few other little extras we’ll be launching.

So best wishes to our Cosmic Family who will be leaving us for fun times in Japan, Australia, NZ, USA, Canada, and maybe more?

Keep It Cosmic

Extreme Deep Field – XDF

NASA recently published pictures of the most detailed universe ever taken. Called the eXtreme Deep Field, or XDF, the photo was assembled by combining 10 years of NASA Hubble Space Telescope photographs taken of a patch of sky at the center of the original Hubble Ultra Deep Field.

The universe is 13.7 billion years old, and the XDF reveals galaxies that span back 13.2 billion years in time.  The youngest galaxy found in the XDF existed just 450 million years after the universe’s birth in the big bang.
